    Default Bulgars were Turkic

Why is it that so many Bulgarians attempt to create this false image that the Bulgars (or "Bolghars", as they are sometimes referred to) were an Indo-Iranian peoples? The Bulgars clearly had a Turkic language, culture, system of government (Khanate), religion (tengriism), and ancestry (the Hunnic federation). I do not deny that they may have had limited Indo-Iranian admixture or influence, but they were as a whole Turkic. This whole idea of an "Indo-Aryan" origin of the Bulgars became popular during the 90's when all the scummy neo-Nazis started to show themselves in post-Communist Bulgarian society... All facial reconstructions of Bulgars expose their Turkic features:

As I stated, I do not deny the possibility of a limited Indo-Iranian influence on the Bulgars, but their system of government, language, culture, religion and even physical appearance was something very Turkic...

Bulgars, just like any Turkic groups would combine elements of both, Iranic and Altaic groups. No wonder you will find elements typical for Aryans and elements typical for Altains. The Bulgars beeing the most western group of Turkics might had more Aryan than Altain elements though.

I doubt there were more "Aryan" than Altaic attributes in the Bulgars, their language, culture, and appearance were all more Altaic in nature than they were "Aryan". If anything, modern central Asian Turkic peoples such as the Kazakhs and Uzbeks would have more to do with Indo-Aryan peoples than the Bulgars would have, given the fact that Kazakhs and Uzbeks are geographically closer to such people, while the Bulgars populated areas long distances away from any Indo-Aryan inhabited areas.

Scholars debate whether it was Avar, Bulgar, Magyar, etc... And it shows resembling inscriptions to Bulgar treasure found in Shumen. Also, this in what way supports the rambling that the Bulgars were predominantly Iranic? We're talking about whether or not they were Iranic as a whole, not whether or not they had Iranic influences.
