We know that the Anglo-Saxons ruled England and that their political culture was critical in forming the English identity. There were also Viking raids in Scotland, while the Danes ruled in eastern Britain just before the Normans arrived.

Considering that the British Isles have a history of contact with Nordic and Germanic peoples why do most of us not look Germanic or Nordic? Was it because the genetic was minimal? The average British person does not look anything like a German, Swede, Norwegian, Dane or Finn.

Would it be correct to say that although these peoples ruled Britain most of us are not descended from them but rather come from Brythonic or Gaelic origins?

You are being irrelevant. The average German doesn't look Finnish/ Swedish/ Danish/ Norwegian , so what is your point?

Firstly Germanic doesn't equal Nordid. The primary phenotype for the British Isles is Nordid ( Keltic). Get your facts straight.

Yes it was minimal which is why you'll struggle to find people from here that can pass in Scandinavia or Germany/Netherlands
