Idols is not equal to Elohim in my understanding. But does it mean that the sum is zero?

That you don't know much about Hebrew grammar:

Elohim (Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים) is a grammatically singular or plural noun for "god" or "gods" in both modern and ancient Hebrew language.

When used with singular verbs and adjectives elohim is usually singular, "god" or especially, the God. When used with plural verbs and adjectives elohim is usually plural, "gods" or "powers"

Elohim is translated as both "God" an "idols".

Elohim doesn't mean God or Gods.

And it's peculiar and curious that Jews named "God" and "idols" with the same word.

Elohim is plural and this means gods I heard. -im is plural in Hebrew I think.

Back then the language wasn't developed as now. Many things were denoted by one word, depending on context.
