Northern French politicians and Southern French politicians - compare and contrast

Overall, how similar or different would you say these two samples are?

Dieppe, Seine-Maritime Department, Haute-Normandy, Northern France http://www.dieppe.fr/menus/la-mairie...s-adjoints-132

Without taking into account the two people of obvious recent immigrant ancestry:

The difference between the two was not as big as I expected. Overall, both groups were darker on average than a group of British or Germans, whilst being lighter than a group of Iberians or Italians.

Main phenotypes I see are Atlantid, Atlanto-Med, Alpine, Dinard/Norid and Subnordid (in no particular order), and that counts for both groups. Maybe slightly more light types in the Northern French, and darker in the Southern French, but the difference is not huge. As groups, I think they pass as one another.

Yes, to me France is the ultimate hybrid of Northern and Southern Europe, and this to a large extent is true wherever in the country you go.

Yes, I agree with you. I have a French-American aunt and she is a bit darker than the average French person (she is an Audrey Tautou type). But most French are probably intermediate in terms of Europe as a whole. A little lighter in northern France and a bit darker in southern France.

Overall much the same. Even in the south there are quite a few blondes. Maybe a bit fairer in the north. You don't have the big difference in France as oppose in Italy between north and south. Ironically, while I write this entry, there are two French tourist next to me in the library. The male has dark hair, but the female is very fair, looks German.
