China: The Mandate of Heaven Many breakthroughs on which the modern world is based were discovered in China long ago...iron-casting, gunpowder, even printing. When introduced to Europe, these things changed Western civilization. This episode presents the synthesis of East and West.
    Very interesting stuff.

(I have changed the video link but left the description intact as the quality of this video is slightly higher.)

Iron-casting wasn't invented in China. As far as the historical record goes, iron-casting was first undertaken by the [Indo-European] Hittites, in what is now called Turkey, about 3,500 years ago.

If cast iron from a blast furnace is implied, then, yes, that's the Chinese, who undertook this feat about 1,000 years after Hittite iron-making began during the Latter Zhou Dynasty.
