Whose public life is more ethnically representative: United States or Brazil?

Brazil.You see many mixed policticians and business people here,only the media is white leaning.In the US,things are either black or white.

in hollywood movies i barely see hispanics, but there's always at least 1 black guy in every movie,but latino/hispanic is bigger % than blackks.

why is that?

Perhaps in part because Blacks have been in the US in large numbers since its beginning, whereas 'Hispanics' have only been around in large numbers since perhaps the 1960's.

I think the reason is that many Hispanics are White or identify as White. Blacks are often there to represent something non-White even when the story doesn't motivate it. It is supposed to be important in some people's worldview.
