1) Eastern Europe (except for Hungary and Ukraine) is doing better economically than Northern Europe. Lower debt levels, lower unemployment, no bankrupt banks, low deficit spending, current account deficits are relatively low, low costs for social spending.

2) The whole Eastern European hooker thing is a myth. Except for Hungary, Czech Republic, Ukraine there are no East Euro countries that produce a lot of hookers. Why? Because women marry in their early 20s. So there's only a small pool of women that can become hookers.
