I was concerned in my late teens that my dissociation from my emotions would lead me to psychopathy.
My friends had commented many times at my lack of appropriate emotions. A girl had shut a hot oven door on my arm and it burned my skin. I didn't react.
I had a violent upbringing and was often challenged to shield my emotions or else. I had to practice having the correct emotions for a while and to be more open in expression.
Intent. Something snapped and I was able to cry again. Sometimes, I prefer the emotionless me, and sometimes, I am glad to be in control again.

Genetic science is useles in this area. Only neuroscience can solve the problem.
Human brain has been very well mapped already, the areas responsible for certain functions are all clearly identified. All we need at this stage is to increase resolution of scanners about 10 times and any neuroscientist will be able to identify a person incapable of empathy (potential psycho) in 10-15 minutes.

It seems to be better to be a psychopath than a sociopath.
educated & good career x uneducated & bad career
controlled behaviour, manipulative x erratic behaviour, impulsive
Mr. Brooks sounds exciting
