My friends from Norway and my German relatives speak and write perfect English. English, whether anyone likes it or not, is the world's lingua franca. There is no excuse for Lissy speaking/writing like a 19th century immigrant peasant in the New World. None. My Western Ukrainian friends and family speak and write perfect English, except for those over 70 years of age. I don't understand why he insists on typing like an infant.

both people in my Moldavian side villages and people in my Ukrainian side villages remember Russian WW2 troops as savages and German troops as quite noble - this is what people who lived through it say. they were hiding the women in the forests because Russians were well known for the rapes and other atrocities.
