Jidane looks "nordic" because he inherited that subnasion-to-chin distance from his father(he also has exactly the same trait), nordics or all phenotypes (from NW Europe mainly) with a developed robust jaw have this trait + a long nasal philtrum (since the mouth stretches down increasing the U.F.H while nose longitudinal height stays the same). Which happens to be common in nordids or upper paleolithics (brunns). He would be put in the plate 9 going by Coon's system. UP types in north africa.

Wouldn't guess him to be non-European.

He also has ENF admixture, hence longer head and black hair, but by and large he's CM (similar to those in Southern Europe, but not identical). There is a similarity to Aryan phenotype too (Corded):

But this is because Aryan phenotype is also a mix of CM with Med

North Atlantid with some Dinarid. He does have an aryan look. Looks fully French, German or Dutch and also fits in the north as well. Players get dark in the sun which he probably did. There is nothing exotic about him apart from the hair. When he bald, he is uber white.

He's just a lighter Maghrebi. I don't understand why some people try to make him an Europan. Is this supposed to be an European look?

Yeah, I wouldn't guess him outside of Europe if I just saw him randomly on the street.
