Hard to say overall, but my personal observation is that there’s more middle eastern looking South Asians, because South Asians are, number 1, very mixed, & number 2, very distinct looking.
Can South Asians ever be coal black skinned?

Middle Eastern-looking South Asians, especially if we are talking about Afghans and Pakistanis.

MENA are noticeably fairer-skinned than South Asians and are more pure Caucasoids. There is a lot of Australoid admixture in South Asia especially the more south of Punjab you go. Levantines and Maghrebis phenotypically and even genetically are closer to Southern Europeans than they are to South Asians. Gulf specimens are the only ones that can give off a pseudo-Paki/North Indian vibe but IMO they are distinct.
In my observation also, MENA tend to have smaller eyes than South Asians, and also tend to have more mature/robust faces. On average they smell better too (although I've met MENA that reeked).

There is a big reason why there is not more overlap between South Asians and MENA, it's because the lighter upper caste Indians usually have very soft androgynous features especially Brahmins. In other words, they look like pussies as opposed to the rugged appearance prevalent among MENA. They look like they have a dose of European ancestry instead.

In my experience it is South Asian-looking Middle Easterners.
