Kenya: Eastleigh Mosque Attackers Shot Dead

Police this morning shot dead two terror suspects in Nairobi's Eastleigh area following a tip-off. The two suspects were found with a hand grenade and a pistol loaded with three rounds of ammunition.

The officers from the Anti-mugging squad confronted the two before shooting them outside a hotel along Eastleigh's 12th street. Nairobi County Police boss Benson Kibue said Police believe the men were on a mission before being intercepted.

Kibue added that the two men are believed to be part of the gang that hurled a grenade at Hidaya mosque on December 7 last year injuring more than 20 people. Among those injured was Kamukunji Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan who had gone to the mosque for evening prayers.
