Let's for a second imagine a world where dna testing for example would be much more mainstream, and what it could change on a global scale, if anyone really had that much awarness.

I'm wondering if it already changed/consolidated/reversed anything for some members, not particulary for themselves but how they see the world, their local political discussions,..through anthro, geopolitical threads, dna toying etc..

Ehh when it becomes anything more than a hobby; or used in screening out major genetic illnesses, or birth abnormalities it starts to wreak of Eugenics. Its all well and good to discuss which features we like, and look at neat patterns in global distribution of such traits, I think it is arrogant to assign arbitrary best-worse rankings on them. We know so little about how genes interact with eachother, and as a crop geneticist I know all the money and time Seed Companies spend trying to increase genetic variation in their lines. The information is useful and super interesting, but I have serious doubts about our ability as a society to properly handle such information. Just look at how passionate we get about reeeeally superficial traits like hair/eye color. Forget how crazy we would get if we started to correlate other more important traits.

yea that's what i meant. Seeing how some already freak out to have 1% of this or that, and others hate all these topics. Even some political party would be absolutely horrified to see autosomal widespreading,... It's just not mainstream enough but it could become eventually.

I hope that some people have been enlightened about neanderthals and archaeology. That is not the same as really changing politics though.

There are many people from across the world on this board, some are assholes but there are also many who aren't.

I wouldn't say that my political ideology has changed, but I am more aware of what is going in the world. We don't get much world news here and there are very many interesting articles here, most of which never reaches our media. Many of the articles and comments here are controversial but I do think it is an interesting discourse.
