No Armenian Toponym Can be Found in Early 20th Century’s Russian Maps

We need to struggle harder against Armenia and we do. We have isolated Armenia from all international and regional projects.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said on Friday during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2015 and the tasks ahead, APA reports.

According to official Armenian statistic data, 30 percent of Armenia’s population lives in poverty and destitution, President Aliyev said.

'However, the actual percentage is 50-60. According to Armenian official statistical data, 50,000-60,000 people annually leave Armenia. However, we have such information that about 100,000 people leave Armenia each year. So, there will be no Armenian in the Armenian state established in the historical Azerbaijani territories,' the head of state noted.

President Ilham Aliyev mentioned that our society, especially our young people must never forget the fact that Armenia was created on the historical Azerbaijani lands.

'These are our ancestral lands, and all the place names are of Azerbaijani origin. It is enough only to look at the maps drawn up by the tsarist Russia in early 20th century. One cannot find an Armenian toponym on these maps. 80 percent of villages in the present-day Armenian territory were of Azerbaijani origin. We will surely return to these lands, there is no other way. This is our strategic goal and we are trying to achieve it,' he added.
