Partially, this is an argument in favor of confrontation. Often, they behaved as colonizers among the aborigines. Also, the German elite, too, was not entirely German. And some of the princes and rulers had more than half Slavic blood.

You're complaining about marginalizing and colonizing lands populated with a foreign peoples? Most of Russia's territory was conquered from non-Slavic peoples and later on populated with ethnic Russians, what are you bitching about?

That's called royal marriage, there were French rulers who were half-English, there were constantly royal marriages between different members of royal families in order to keep the dynasties alive, to prevent inbreeding, and to improve relations between ruling families of different states. All that was important was the paternal dynasty, and there sure as hell was no Slavic dynasty to rule Germany. You don't get this works, do you...

You brought it up. As long as we're talking about off-topic, how relevant is it that some of the peoples were Muslim? Part of them were Muslim, part of them Shamanist, Tengrist, various Folk Religions, etc...

What even is there to say about this thread? Every political entity will always be in some sort of conflict, there is no "end" to anything, it's in human nature to desire to achieve supremacy among adversaries, borreby chauvanist.
