While there is a lot of discussion (including on this very forum) about non-white people with colonial complexes, there is far less discussion about White people with colonial complexes.

That is certainly part of the explanation. While clearly not the same thing as OWD/White wannabeism, let us not underestimate how debilitating English wannabeism has been for many of its current and former White colonies.

Things went up a notch when the Tudors, which hailed from the region's elite, turned Anglo so to speak.

Jamie Roberts (who we have discussed before) has a typical upper-middle class South Wales accent (more specifically, Cardiff accent). Would you guess him as Welsh if you didn't know? He is the one being interviewed:

Yeah, but I'd say that a bit of stereotype would enter into the guessing, because of his being one of those "dark Brit" types, of sorts.

I mean the way he speaks, not the way he looks. Another example of an upper-middle class South Wales accent would be Roberts' teammate Alun Wyn Jones, who hails from my city of Swansea:

Would you say that Cornwall has been completely Anglicized at this point despite the dialect revival movement there?

The English should have said to the Scots: Awright, keep your country, but for God's sake quit torturing us with that Satanic accent!
