My boyfriend enjoys for casual reading Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Patterson, and the James Bond books by Ian Fleming. He recently read Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster, by Jon Krakauer, and loved it.
If you want to challenge yourself, try reading books from a best books or classics list.
