    But I am saying not only do mainland Greeks not come up genetically like southern Italians, but they do not look like them either. They have squarer heads, a Balkan look overall and are more robust.

    I know some Griko people from Calabria... they are pretty much dead ringers for Greeks from the Peloponnese. So I picked the region of Italy with the highest number of Griko people.

    Of the Peloponnese Greeks I have met, they're all quite light. I do not know what Griko look like to compare, but I have been told they are the same as anyone else from Calabria.

    I think southern Italians from some regions look lighter (Apulia, Lucania, Abruzzo) while Campania, Calabria and Sicily are darker.

    Sardinians are probably the darkest, Calabria possibly in 2nd place. Abruzzese are Central Italians
