Default Do most ethnic French Canadians have Nordic features?

We know that the earliest French Canadians were from Normandy. So does that mean that modern ethnic French Canadians are Nordic-looking?

They probably look french because their ancestors were french. Although some may look more germanic because they share country with british settlers.

I'd say it would depend on the French Canadian, but on reflection, most of the French Canadian women I've encountered in my travels have very Nordid features, while a couple of them look more " Midi- ish."

Here.. I'll probably get more thumbs down with this one post than I'd ever gotten before, but if you want controversy: : " French Cajuns and Acadians are brothers and sisters. They all have some degree of native American blood, ergo, French Canadians have American Indian blood." By the time I get back from work, this should really get some notice. As an American, I shouldn't have any idea what I'm talking about, right?

    Not that much.

    Not either.

French Canadians were mainly from Central-Western and North-Western France (Saintonge, Brittany, Maine, Normandy, Picardy, and Parisian Basin).
And since the ethnic core population (about 5 million people) is descended from less than 10,000 French who landed there around 1700, they used to be amazingly homogeneous, much more so than in any part of France.

Pictures from the Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean region give a hint of what Quebec used to be. Outrageously average white people, who all looked like they were cousins:

But this is a thing of the past.
Birth rates in French Canada are now extremely low, and immigration is high.

A couple of weeks ago I had an opportunity to visit the Montréal University. I had the sensation that about 50% of students were Asians, Latinos, Arabs, Haitians etc.
It gave me a gloom idea of what the future of French Canadian elites is going to be.

French Canadians look like French, and their more pure than their Anglo-Canadian counterparts who might have mixed with different European groups. Most of their ancestry is French I believe from Northern France, some from southern France not much, and there might be little bit of British in them, but yea they are quite very French still.
