    Default Debate religion/God with me

Go right ahead, you're all invited

I do not believe in the existence of God. At the very least not a theistic one. Deism could be an acceptable alternative to me, though.

I dont think its neccessary to debate you because i tolerate that you dont believe in God and there is freedom of religion that also includes freedom of no religion, but i do believe in God

So you're ultimately an agnostic then?

Since there is no way to decisively disprove the existence of God, I guess I could be termed an agnostic. But, in the same way that I'm agnostic about the tooth fairy. I really don't believe she exists, but I can't prove it. Therefore, I am agnostic about God in the same way that I am agnostic about the tooth fairy. I think this is more accurately described as atheism, since agnosticism really implies a wavering of belief - indicating that one is not really sure. I am a lot more convinced of my disbelief than your average agnostic would be. It's a matter of terminology, but I think I should more accurately be considered an atheist.

Of course, and in the same way I tolerate believers, as long as they don't try to convert me.

However I love debating religion, and often watch YouTube debates on the matter

What would your reaction be if aliens landed on Earth tomorrow and proved that all religious stories in human history have been misunderstood interactions with them?

I would love to ask them why they left such confusing messages to us, causing endless strife, even wars. And why they haven't revealed themselves earlier.

That makes sense to me. I assume you feel the same about the idea of the metaphysical in general then?

I think metaphysics has had its day - and is gradually being replaced my empirical science. The same will eventually happen to philosophy. One day we will have little use for it. It's on its way to extinction IMO.
