No, you are not right. All Gök Tengri religion traditions, are now continued in cultural ways. There are many Turk cultural customs, showing that these are equal to the old religion of Turks. In fact, the modern Alevi Bekhtashi and Yesevi Turks are mixing the old Gök Tengri religion traditions with our current Islam religion. The origin of all modern Turks of Türkiye is located in the 13th century AD tribes whom belived in the Alevi sects build on the principles of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi and Haji Bektash Veli.

Indeed the schools say science says something in 95% of the curriculum and religions says something else in 5% of the curriculum, and of course only what science says makes sense...

It is strange the need for such powerful military force to practice a crypto religion, like a persecuted minority no?

Tengrii was just like Waaq/Eebe in Somalia...pre-Islamic name for God that was adopted after Islam, and any remaining customs out of ignorance. Many Somal women went topless as late as the early 1900s, but it wasnt because they were still practicing Cushitic religions.

Well, biased TA moderators support this savage army of butthurt Turanist and pseudo-atheist Turks. They're allowed to post anything. Nobody deletes their posts or bans them for their incivility and disgusting behavior.
According to the owner of this forum (Loki), they're the best members of this community! Mr. Loki, you're a typical hypocrite and your double standards prove it. Not just you, but all of moderators of this website. You only want more "clicks" and "ads". Truth hurts.

Star and crescent was way before used than Islam. There are different theories about the origins, as it was used by the Turkic Khaganate before, or that it was adopted from Byzantine Empire. There's also a legendary origin that moon occulting a star reflecting on pools of blood after Battle of Kosovo (1448), forming the current flag. If star and crescent had any role in Islam, it would be used by Arab states at first place, yet they never used it in any era (I'm excluding the Barbary Coast states here for obvious reasons). Simply put, its association with religious symbolism was developed much later, but it was never intended.

That's totally nonsense. Zoroastrians were persecuted after the Muslim conquest and spread of Islam in Iran. And if you look at the modern countries, it's definitely the other way around. Under the Islamic republic, Zoroastrian values are considered blasphemy in Iran, while there's no such campaign against Tengrianism or its elements in Turkey.

Anyways, go tell a Pakistani or a Mauritanian his flag is 'tengrist'...he will spit on you and your tengrism
As Ölüezgi stated, most likely they simply adopted it without the need of questioning its origins. If they would spit on their own flag because of its origins they never questioned, well, it is their problem.
