I mean the people's intentions are not about changing our geopolitical direction, but changing this economic price change. It's a grass-roots civil society attempt. The same thing happened with the transporation fare hike, and they were successful. Democracy works in Armenia, and there is vibrant civil society that voice their opinion.
There's no police brutality, but protesters have essential illegally closed down the main avenue where the Presidential Palace is, and police have been very cautious. Imagine if protesters tried to block down the street in front of white house, and sit on that street/protest for days. I'm sure it wouldn't fly at all.
