Actually, babying them like dressing them up and carrying them in your purse is considered animal abuse by most animal experts. Animals don't like that kind of stuff. BeerBaron isn't only talking about that though.

I'll admit though, I don't care for cats.
The Guanche skulls as a whole are unlike those of modern European Mediterraneans, and resemble northern European series most closely, especially those in which a brachycephalic element is present, as in Burgundian and Alemanni series.
divided them into clearly differentiated types, which include a Mediterranean, a Nordic, a "Guanche," and an Alpine. The "Guanche" accounts for 50 per cent of the whole on the four islands of Teneriffe, Gomera, Gran Canaria, and Hierro; the Nordic for 31 per cent, the Mediterranean for 13 per cent, and the Alpine

I really dont think a lonely housewife dressing up her lap dog in a little costume means we are on the threshold of rights parity between man and animal, if such a notion existed then factory farms and the like would be out of the question.

That isn't abuse to livestock though. They don't mind it. There's also a huge level of intelligence between those animals and say, a lion or a wolf. That's why we don't eat wolves or lions.

What is abuse is fucking Indians/SE Asians locking up wild animals like tigers up in cages, bad zoo conditions, some douchebags in Manhattan keeping birds in a cage in their apartment, etc.
