Depends on age, in their peak of fertility woman have no sense of loyalty and affection, it's normal they have the upper hand and being overflown with choice will dramatize things, when becoming mothers or attaining cap of thirties they instinctively hold the best provider they can have before reaching the cemetery of elephants.
In that age the most successful men will have a revanchist attitude and become the shallow beings they all along despise when they were young and here goes the cycle.

Men beat women in being shallow when selecting a mate, and by a huge margin, but overall women are more shallow. There are many vapid and superficial women who lack depth, you can tell simply by observing topics that tend to disproportionately interest women. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing, it is natural.
