    Bavarians are a conglomeration of different Germanic tribes becoming one and who have assimilated some remaining Hallstatt Celts in the process. End of the story.

    They have more neolithic farmer blood than other Germans, but they don't have any 'South Italian' ancestry as far as I know if you mean modern South Italians. They likely have Roman ancestry, but the exact genetic profile of the Romans isn't clearly defined yet even if it's likely the presence of many South Italian-like individuals among the ancient Romans.
