Does an East Asian version of OWD exist?

Much has been made (and, imo, exaggerated) about how some North Africans, Middle Easterners, mixed-race Latin Americans and occasionally even South Asians either want to be White/European or even think they are. However, the possibility that variations of this among East Asians exist too have been really overlooked. I propose that two versions of OWD exist among some East Asians:

(1) SE Asians who think they look the same as NE Asians.
(2) At least as prevalent if not perhaps more so, Japanese and Koreans in particular who perceive themselves as closer to Westerners than to other Asians and even want to be part of the 'White mainstream'.

How real is OWD actually? Sure, at The Apricity we get the occasional nutter that wants to be considered white. However, I don't think that just by admiring European/Western culture you suffer from OWD. It doesn't even have to mean you hate your own culture for that matter.

Because they were colonies. Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong were colonies of the UK so a lot of them have this pride that they are superior to all Asians because they were colonized. Taiwan is the same way not only towards Japan but also towards the US.

To further elaborate on this. Koreans and Japanese are obsessed with being a 'pure race' and all that from time to time. But it's the overseas SEA Chinese (and HKers/Taiwanese) who have real mental problems. Most if not all of them are actually proud to have been colonized. They also hate associating themselves with other Asians especially Chinese. Yet at the same time they claim they are more Chinese than Chinese which is nothing but false pride and nonsense.

I don't think most people in the non-Western world aspire to be White, but there are definitely some who do. Just look at the actors, TV presenters and models from a whole range of countries - they are usually considerably lighter-skinned and finer-featured than the average for the country in question. Furthermore, plastic surgery to make someone look White(r) is increasingly prevalent in the non-Western world, including East Asia.
