You're arguing that my range of 65-70% is unreasonable because there are 2* studies (out of six), that place the average slightly (ie 2 percent) below that range. However, there are also two studies that place Puerto Ricans above 70% European. One could use the exact same argument that you are and claim that Puerto Ricans are more than 70% Euro on average. In fact, it would probably be more convincing because those two studies put Puerto Ricans well (not just two percent) out of that range.


* The first one you posted "Ancestry-related assortative mating in Latino populations" was already included in the OP and the second one, while interesting, didn't provide a precise average so it can't be used for this purpose (which is why I didn't include it in the op).

Which is why you could also argue that given that those two studies putting PR above 70% are so different from the "main group" of studies, then they could be less reliable. You could also argue that is arbitrary to exclude the second study because it "didn't provide a precise average". You can see the range in the image, it's pretty clear.

But yeah anyway, I don't even care about how European Puerto Ricans are, I'm just saying I disagree with "we can safely conclude Puerto Ricans are more than 65% European".
