Today was blue skies, sunny, about 23C, warm air with a moderate and cool breeze.

I wore my wide-brimmed UPF50 protective sunhat at work today, protective sunshades, factor 110 sunblock all over me, protective sun clothing, protective UV hair spray, protective lip balm, cooling towel, portable fan, and drank plenty of mineral water. Whilst walking outside with dogs for long hours at work, I made sure they were kept cool and hydrated.

UV index was very high, pollen count was high, humidity was uncomfortably 77%.

I see that bush fires have broken out in some southern European nations with hellish hot temperatures over 40C. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-48790242

The heatwave and warm air which is gripping much of continental Europe at the moment is coming in from the Sahara Desert of North Africa according to meterologists.

I'm not going to work this Saturday as the temperature for the UK is expected to reach as high as 32C for the day... before dropping back to 24C on Sunday and then 22C on Monday.https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743

24 natural tricks to stay cool without resorting to installing expensive Air Conditioning in the home which harms the environment and runs up high energy bills: https://greatist.com/happiness/trick...-in-the-heat#2

During a heatwave, health experts advise to stay indoors if the temperature goes over 35C to avoid dangerous heatstroke. Construction workers should also stay cool when working outside for long hours during heatwaves, by wearing specialist cooling spacesuits that are designed to keep the body temperature cool.

During a heatwave, keep the windows closed and use cooling sun blackout curtains - so that hot air and strong sunlight from outside doesn't enter inside the rooms. If the temperature outside is hotter than the room tempertature, then keep the windows and curtains closed during the day so that the hot air can't get into the home. Seek cool shade away from the heat of the sun.

Keep fans switched off if the temperature is over 35C, (fans just circulate hot air around a room rather than cooling the room temperature like AC does, and fans are dangerous to use during a heatwave as shown by all the patients who died from heatstroke one year in hospital who had their bedsidee fans switched on compared to the patients who survived who kept their fans off.)

Be wary of ceiling fans which can push hot air from the ceiling down to the centre of the room and be careful not to place fans near windows.

Drink plenty of water at room temperature and take cool showers. Spritz face with cooling spring water (such as Evian facial spray or Eau Themale Avène facial spray - I always keep a large spray can of Avène on my desk, along with desk fans, and a travel sized Avène cooling spray to refresh my skin, and I like to carry a portable rechargeable and powerful fan in my handbag when I'm outside which also doubles as a phone charger. I bought this one from Amazon a few years ago and it's still working fine;- https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01K4GVF...ding=UTF8&th=1
It's very powerful and it lasts all day and it charges my e-cig vapourisers and my phone too as it also doubles as a strong portable fan and a powerbank.)

The cool water spray is my must-have all year round and it instantly cools and refreshes my skin.

Cooling towels (easily found on Amazon from as little as £6) are made from special and extremely lightweight material, and they're awesome for cooling the body. (I often wear one around my waist at work underneath my top and they're amazing for cooling the body down.) They keep me cool for hours - and when they lose their cooling effect, you just hold them under a cold tap outside (in a toilet room where there's taps, for example,) and easily wring them out... and they last all day unlike gel cooling pads from the freezer. You can wrap strips of the material around your wrist and wear a cooling headband too.

Some portable mini travel fans also have cooling water mist sprays inside them too.

Sun parasols with a UPF 50 rating will help to keep the heat and UV rays off your face, scalp, and neck.

Hanging a cold wet sheet by the window will cool a room, sleeping low to the ground (heat rises to the ceiling,) and chillows (cooling mats and cooling pillows) are comfortable to sleep on in hot weather. Chillows can also easily be found on Amazon, etc.

Filling hot water bottles with cold tap water and placing them in the freezer, then taking them out once they're frozen to place in the bed will help to keep the bed cool for a while. It's best to have more than one bottle, so that when one loses its coolness after a while, there's a spare one ready in the freezer to replace it.

Avoid cooking and using kettles as heat from the cooker or kettle will add extra heat into the home - eat cool foods and drink cool fluids instead. Don't use tumble dryers either inside the home. Minimise the amount of electrical gadgets and lights turned on in the home as this generates heat.

Place a large bowl of ice-cubes in front of a fan to create a cooling effect as the ice melts in the breeze.

Cooling gel pads kept in the fridge and freezer can be taken out and worn around the forehead, wrists, pulse points, and on the backs of knee and foot soles at night... and they can also help to cool the body temperature.

Avoid sleeping too close to someone else at night as body heat will cause extra heat.

Cooling towels are nice to sleep with one across your back at night on cool sheets.

Some cities have set-up emergency cooling centres for the public to use to cool down during a heatwave.

We had bit warmer short period here a week ago ... I cooled my room's temperature ... to keep it max. about +22C. I don't sleep well if it is too hot.
Today it was only +26C where I am. It felt comfortable. And yes I agree that sleeping is a problem when it is too hot. The air conditioning has its pluses, but it also has disadvantages.

Lets speculate (doesn't matter do you personally believe global warming or not).... how much higher the temperature can/could still rise in future (at summer times) that you would still stay/live happily there? +42C, +45C, +47C, +50C? Or is there any limit?

If I have understand correctly (at least in some areas) ... hot temperature is not the only problem but also dryness (no rains like earlier)? Farming and France's wine industry faces new challengers because of that.

Here in the top of the Europe ... (today) we can not see (clearly) that our summer would have come any warmer than they were earlier (50 years ago), BUT we can very easily see that our winters are ''weaker'' than earlier (over all) .... and both spring seasons and autumn seasons have become longer.
