That's a one risk we fair (as global warming). We are not living in vacuum or something. Some food are transported from southern countries to here. Together with those packages ... some insects might come as well. So far our cold winters have killed those, so they have not caused any bigger problems here. But if our winter become stoo warm .... who knows what can happen.
Here is just one example:
It can destroy potato crops. If it could survive here....year around ... we would need to start to use chemicals (insecticides) same ways as southern countries do. Which is bad ... as those are never healthy/good for humans. So far we eat the best food what comes to purity of it.
