Goulash is a soup in Hungary, not thick at al. I think what you call goulash abroad may not be the same thing we call goulash("gulyás") here in Hungary.
There are different ways to make goulash too. In my family it's a soup, I don't know how other families and restaurants do it.

My today's simple and humble homemade lunch.

I would like to add a few words about the main dish, this is a vegetable dish, mainly from eggplants at first barbecued on the fire and then fried in a pan. I think that 99.9999 percent of the world's population has never tried anything like this and just do not understand how incredibly delicious it is.

i would disagree, in asia they will fire roast eggplants first and make the into a dish of similar consistency.

i feel like almost the entire world does deep down eat somewhat similar, especially before the advent of industrial food. i especially like looking at recipes from the middle ages in western europe. completely different from what people imagine is "western european food" today, tons of ginger, sweet and sour, spices, dramatic effects and full usage of ingredients parts.
