Barquisimeto is the capital city of Lara state, which is an interior and mountainous state that is more or less far apart from the Caribbean coast. There is some SSA admixed people here and there, but overall, it has much more Euro and Amerindian than black contribution.

My dad (who was a civil engineer. He is retired now) used to work there after he divorced from my mom. He lived there when I was between 7 and 10 years old. I remember that around that time, he took me and my elder siblings to there for vacation. And we frequently were back and forth between Barquisimeto and Acarigua to see our uncles and cousins who lived in Acarigua. There were times he dropped us in Acarigua to have some days having fun with our cousins, and he went back to work in Barquisimeto. I remember I liked the city (Barquisimeto) very much, and my brother (4 years older than me) commented how clean and organized the city was (he has always been very fan of cities and skyscrapers). Those were very happy times

My dad worked as one of the engineers in the construction of some apartment buildings in eastern Barquisimeto.

Also, its cool to know that there could be the possibility that some recent ancestor of my paternal grandma or grandpa could have been from Lara state, judging by my Venezuelan recent ancestry map from 23andme

You forgot to add Colombian skylines. Colombian cities are worthy competitors of Venezuelan and Brazilian cities on that respect.
