If I were less of a urban ape I'd definitely be up for this. I wonder how high-maintenance one of these houses really is though.

I like the adobe style of architecture (think Sante Fe architecture) to which this type of housing lends itself. I also like that it strives to be completely off-grid and uses grey and black water efficiently. One would need to be quite into the whole permaculture thing I think to make it truly workable.

Similar housing can be constructed using straw bales, cob and compacted dirt sans used tires too.

Overall I like it. It appeals to my desire to live with nature as opposed to against it. I also wouldn't mind the whole off-grid thing tbh.

The style lends itself to the owner-builder who has little in the way of building knowledge but lots of (people hours) available.

I also like the adobe style home but I would probably build with adobe brick or the cinva-ram equivalent if I were to live in a suitable climate for such a medium.
