This girl looks more Russian. Bulgarians are on average darker than Serbs, less than Greeks and overlap with Western Turks at times. Natural blonde hair is actually rare, compared to other Slavs, but eyes are usually dark with light to medium skin

Bulgarians are on average fairer than Serbs for sure.
Serbs and Montenegrans are dark haired and dark eyed. It is just a question of observation. I've been to serbia many times. I was struck as to how different Serbs are from fellow slavs - Bulgarians, Croatians, Bosniaks etc. very few naturally blonde people. For those who have not been they can look at say the latest national team of Serbia that participated in the world cup. They are not only all dark haired but some quite swarthy - similar to darker mediterranean people or arabs even.

The confusion starts when people mix up the different ethnicities. Bulgaria like most Balkan countries (mostly Romania and Bulgaria) in the region have a significant population of gypsies. Pure Bulgarians are not swarthy unless tanning. But Bulgarians are generally fairer than Serbs. Bulgarians genetically are closest to northern italians which has been confirmed by the latest dna analysis.

And it's not only these. Last Yugoslavia and Bulgaria played the Bulgarian goal against the Yugoslavs was scored by Plamen Getov who was blonde. Not one blonde in Yugoslav team.

I saw so many Bulgarians who look similar to Tayyip Recep Erdogan, no joke. But there also Bulgarians with more northern look. I hope i didnt offended anyone. up
