Why are many Greeks so hateful?

I will only comment this, but I can say that I very often see the opposite too, Turks harassing Greeks on the internet is very common from what I have seen.

The Greeks did not recognize their decadence. They walk with an identity that is not equal to them. The Philo Hellenes came after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire to Greece and persuaded this shattered peasant population, they were the great and virtuous descendants of Aristoteteles and Socrates. So the ego became a little too big for the Greeks.

The fact that they are in bad shape is a great part of the reason. People don't resort to hate when times are good. Considering the Ottomans conquered them and persecuted them for centuries, its natural that some will have a distaste for anything Turkish. They don't like Germany because of WWII invasion etc. Now they blame other countries like Germany for their financial troubles.
I also find that there is a certain sense of arrogance that can probably develop when you learn about how "you're people were the first 'great' civilization" blah blah blah --> in every country, you find people who seem to think their people are "more special" etc.
As for the Anti-semitism, anti semites are generally strange distraught people. I don't understand how they can really be truly anti-semitic given how few the number of Jews are there.

I agree with this. Greece also seems to be geographically located in the middle of a sea of enemies. That tends to produce insular and proud peoples, which is really a good thing in regards to ethnic and political survival. It seems that not only are they confronted by the Turks to the east but also the Albanians and Slavic Macedonians to their north and west. Who wouldn't produce a culture of such ethnic pride as one surrounded by people traditionally hostile to them? Think about France.. it's surrounded by historical enemies, as well, although now they are politically allied. Great Britain to the north, Germany to the east and Spain to the southwest.. well, did that not also produce a proud and insular people? I've tried to understand this before and I even made a thread about it, but the answer I ultimately came away with is that proud people, confronted by other proud people with conflicting territorial claims, get used to emotional and physical warfare. A lot of fighting, blood and death arise from such things.
