Why do you, a nonwhite, get to decide who is "proper white," though? I would think that decision would belong to Europeans - or even more specifically, the whitest of the white, NW Europeans. And their near unanimous consensus is that native Europeans of all regions are white. I find it odd that it's nonwhites who are trying to redefine "whiteness" for whites.

Thats a moronic point of view.. that would be like saying, no white/european have a say on who is classified as a Mulato,Mestizo, Castizo, we all have a point of view on the specifics of phenotype, so any other ethnic group can phenotype other ethnics without having to be part of that ethnic because we are humans and we can share of point of view even if that point of view is very wrong

Of course, you can have a point of view. But it is the point of view of an outsider, just as my opinions on mulattoes and mestizos are. Europeans, by and large, agree that European equals white, and you, by all definitions a non-white, are trying to tell us how we should define ourselves. Do you have a right to do so? Sure. But I don't think your opinion is very relevant, just as mine wouldn't be if I told you who should and shouldn't qualify for your particular Amerindian tribe. I'm unsure if you're North Amerindian or South Amerindian, but the point stands.

Overall, Portuguese are considerably lighter. Portuguese autosomal DNA (the major determinant of pigmentation) shows combined North Sea, Atlantic, Slavic and Baltic markers close to 60%. The Candilli et al (2012, 2013) pigmentation field studies reveals that the Portuguese are about as light as Poles in skin tone.

Both population groups are obviously white. No need for threads like these.

They are both white. The Portuguese are just lighter - skin tone, hair and eyes. They have to be, given their high N. Euro scores.
