My favorite Albanian of Wallachia is Vasil Koci and his son Stefan which ruled Wallachia and built a very beautiful cathedral where they were both buried, Vasil was born to Tosk parents from Arbanasi ,Bulgaria

We share 180 words with Vlachs so it indicates we are somehow related, the two lone survivors of continuous Slavic repercussions

Albanians continued to toil for Romanian and universal culture: writer Victor Eftimiu; actor Chiril Economu; doctor Ibrahim Themo – who considerably improved the sanitary standards in Dobrudja; architect Stavru Opari; professors Nicolae Djamo and Lucia Djamo Diaconiţă; doctors Anastase Opari, Theodor Economu; Nikola Nacio, Tanţi Economu; Mircea Dumitriu – European champion in yachting, etc.
Nowadays other Albanians distinguish themselves in Romanian culture and sports: Cornel Stavru – a seasoned tenor; poet Cezar Ivănescu; playwright Vlad Zografi (son of Nicolae Djamo); painter and national yachting champion (2004) Vlad Dumitriu; writers Kopi and Ardian Kyçyku, etc.
On June 30, 1999, the Association Liga Albanezilor din România (League of Albanians from Romania, ALAR) was founded in Craiova. It is a Romanian legal body, non-governmental, non-profit, whose goal is the public representation, promotion and defence of the interests of the ethnic Albanians.
On Nov. 26, 2000, ALAR won seats in the parliamentary elections, and also became a member of the Council of the National Minorities in Romania promoted by the Interethnic Relations Dept. of the Romanian Government.

Romania's greatest playwright Ion Luca Caragiale dressed Albanian folk clothes and had Albanian ancestry (Karaxhale)

great medieval ruler Vasile Lupu (the Wolf), birth name Vasile Coci (Koçi) was of Albanian father and Moldavian mother

Romania's PM Victor Ponta also has recent Albanian roots (last century)

Romanian Albanians were into administration positions and small commerce so they were from the beginning a middle class and an urban population in south Romania
Wrong. eminaj is a surname found among Albanians

Ibrahim Starova (born Ibrahim Ethem Sojliu; 1865–1939), better known as Ibrahim Temo, was an Ottoman Albanian politician, revolutionary, intellectual, and a medical doctor by profession.

Temo was also one of the founders of the Society for the Publication of Albanian Writings (Albanian: Shoqëri e të shtypurit shkronjavet shqip).[2] He died in Medgidia in Romania in 1939.

Just found this thread, sorry for the bump but I thought it was interesting since I had a convo about this with some relatives recently.

In addition to what others have mentioned so far, there was also the prominent Ghica family of nobility or boyars which was likely of Albanian origin (some say Aromanian instead). Although over the centuries it blended more with local nobles

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghica_family

There aren't that many people of that background overall, but some estimates put them as high as 11k. They have their own seat in the Chamber of Deputies apparently.
The worst potential competition for any organism can come from its own kind. The species consumes necessities. Growth is limited by that necessity which is present in the least amount. The least favorable condition controls the rate of growth.

Memory never recaptures reality. Memory reconstructs. All reconstructions change the original, becoming external frames of reference that inevitably fall short.

Historians exercise great power and some of them know it. They recreate the past, changing it to fit their own interpretations. Thus, they change the future as well.

Those who would repeat the past must control the teaching of history.
