Almost unknown as it's sale is illegal (it actually is in all of the E.U). I had me a stash from Norway though
With (for as far as I know) Sweden being the only exception.

Have you noticed that if you rearrange the letters in ‘illegal immigrants’, and add just a few more letters, it spells, ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, baby-making, non-English-speaking ********* and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, camel-riding, goat-f*****g raghead c***s with you.?

I added a poll.
Snus is very popular in Estonia, especially in Tallinn. You can own snus, but selling it is illegal. Many Estonians visit Sweden regularly, as it's quite easy to go there. Thus the entire Estonian market of snus is based on people have brought some snus from Sweden. It is quite normal for people to ask their friend who is planning a trip to Sweden, to bring back some snus.
When I walk in Tallinn, then I see used snus sachets on the asphalt, almost on a daily basis.

Quite popular -- especially among bodybuilders, ice hockey players and greaser/rocker types.
You can't sell or buy it here, but many people bring it in from the boats to Sweden, and in many corner stores and in some dive bars you can buy it under the counter.
I think the stuff is vile though -- even worse than chewing tobacco.

This may be an interesting study into snuss and it's effects on the health of the Swedish population.
I am all for it's legalization and using it (combined with electronic cigarettes etc.) as an alternative for smoking.
I think that smoking in public places like schools and public transport should remain outlawed but using snus should be allowed everywhere.. as long as you clean up after yourself (just don't litter ).

Oh, for those who voted popular or very popular, which type do people generally prefer in your country; the loose stuff or the teabag type pellets?
