My opinion is that we Bulgarians are not slavs.
For me, I am Bulgarian only, I have no slavic identity, and I'm not a christian. I cannot imagine slavic either christian people as my brothers.

Pointless thread. Bulgarians are Slavs and Slavs are diverse. Each Slavic group has it's own unique flair. Historically and culturally speaking, Bulgaria was a heavyweight in Slavic world, especially for orthodox Slavs.

In genetics - I would not say, but we have a Slavic influence.
