    Not "spirytus"?

By the way, there is also "bimber" (moonshine). By spirytus I understand only this crazy as hell liquid with 96% of alcohol. But it's only me, who likes to be precise.

Yes, spirytus, sorry for typo My mum uses it to moisten the sponge cake

As for 'bimber' it was/is avialable in 'melinas' (shebeens) in the cities. Never touched or tried one. Only heard it gives a huge hangover

It is actually quite opposite very often. Some people are making it and not necessarily you can get one in "melina". If someone is an expert, then is able to make a masterpiece, even better than vodka.

Only vodka I ever really liked was one called Luksusowa. It's apparently on the cheaper end of the scale, yet it tastes better than anything else. No bitter tones either.

The thing about vodka is that it is essentially just distilled, pure alcohol in a solution with water. There's no real 'taste' to it, and any taste that comes from it are from natural impurities left behind. Whisky gets it's taste from those said impurities which vodka filtration seeks to remove, so it's no wonder why whiskey has such a variety in tastes compared to vodka. For the materials and production, paying anything more than 20-50$ depending on bottle size is just a waste. You pay for the aesthetics and brand name at that point.

It's good, real good stuff. Only vodka I keep stocked at all times in my collection, and all my friends love it too. Potato vodka, now that's some good stuff. I remember when I first had it many years ago, I went to their website and it was just this really small website with featured potatos all over you could click on and find out how they made it. I went to it just now and saw it's all fancy and new, it must be getting more popular overseas. It was actually introduced to me by an old polish guy, who was a client I can't legally talk about (gag order) from my old job, real nice guy, good taste in vodka too apparently

You are right though, vodka goes down clean unlike no other.

Ok, I agree, experts, ie. moonshiners exist, but most of 'melina' sellers/moonshine dealers here are only money makers. They sell moonshine for profit only and avoid police.

True. At least in cities. I tried it once or twice - was good.
