Not all Greeks do that, many try to wogify Greeks and make them as some kind of pseudo-Sicilians, or even Middle Easterners. As usual the truth is in the middle. However, on these types of communities, and from racist anime fans in general, one might get the impression that Greeks are "non_white" or somehow "off-white", peripheral Europeans. Personally, I couldn't care less about these types of comparisons, and agree we have some things in common with Levantines, especially like Lebanese Christians etc. ( I mean, look at Cypriots for Christ's sakes). Still, people will be very very surprised if they visit Greece and see that average (mainland) Greek wouldn't look too much out of place from Austria to France.(even a large portion of islander Greeks sans Cyprus.)
