The women are lighter haired than the men on average but vast majority of Irish are in the light to mid brown hair range. Irish have a great variety of hair colours with usually a redhead in the mix in most group pictures.

What does that even mean statistically? Jet black hair is very uncommon in Irish as I'm sure any unbiased person will attest to.

They're also known to be redheads and anecdotes don't really count in looking at a whole population and what their averages are. Anyone that says that "Irish people are known to be extremely dark haired by everyone" doesn't appear to know what they are talking about. Any group pictures of Irish people will show that they aren't any different than the Brits. I am Irish myself so I know what Irish people look like.

Just to prove my point here are some Kerry players. I usually pick Kerry and Cork because they are in the extreme south of Ireland.

Whilst some have dark hair they are the minority.

    Most are mid brown range.

I can post numerous group pictures to prove my point.

if these are all of ireland (which they obviously arent) then they are very different from brits. every english person i know, including me, has darker hair than these people easily. and every irish person ive known also has had darker hair than these people. irish people have hair like spaniards or portuguese people.

look at ben affleck and other irish people. Why r u pretending that irish ppl are nordic german scandinavian people? they are obviously closer to iberians and french

Ha you're a Troll. The people I've posted are from a first page google search of GAA Kerry Cork. They don't look Scandinavian and are from the far south of Ireland. Places like Dublin have more blonds.

Ben Affleck isn't Irish and who is pretending here if you have to use Ben Affleck as an example of an Irishman?

The players I've posted are from where the black is on that map. Shows how these maps are bogus.

Here's some girls from Kerry. Are you telling me that I'm not showing an accurate representation?

Also genetically Irish are indeed much closer to Scandinavians and Germans than Iberians. Northern French are close to Irish e.g. Bretons and Normans.

I would expect people that make statements here would at least know what they are talking about. A quick google search of European dna plots are not hard to find.
