The eerie but popular theme tune from Doctor Who, (a very popular British science fiction television programme series, produced by the BBC since 1963 - present.)

Daleks used to scare me so much as a child... lol. One time I ran and hid upstairs under my bed and cried in fear and panic, when my dad once pretended for a prank that there was a dalek in the downstairs cupboard....

Alien-like robots ('Daleks') would frequently appear in Dr. Who series...and they'd zombotically chase people and call out 'Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!' in scary voices whenever they saw humans... before firing at people and killing them.

    Ahh... Rupert the Bear!

Sadly they don't make classic animations like that anymore in England.

However, the much beloved Paddington Bear is still alive... and he's currently enjoying a revival and another comeback in England.

Paddington Bear was named after my local train station of Paddington in London, (which is a famous train station.)

Paddington Bear is a fictional character in children's literature. He first appeared on 13 October 1958 in the children's book A Bear Called Paddington and has been featured in more than twenty books written by British author Michael Bond and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum and other artists.

The friendly bear from Peru—with his old hat, battered suitcase (complete with a secret compartment), duffel coat and love of marmalade—has become a classic character from English children's literature.

Paddington books have been translated into 30 languages across 70 titles and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. A much loved fictional character in British culture, a Paddington Bear soft toy was chosen by British tunnellers as the first item to pass through to their French counterparts when the two sides of the Channel Tunnel were linked in 1994.
I also used to love this Swiss-British clay stop-animation (Pingu)... which is extremely cute and hilarious. I've always loved and much prefered watching clay stop-animations much more than cartoon animations.

The language used in Pingu is a garble of sounds that isn't any real language. (It's penguinese language!) The animations can be universally understood by children in all cultures and nations, like Teletubbies, and The Snowman which is a short silent animation movie.

It takes a lot of careful skill and extreme patience to make a clay stop-animation series, as the artists have to continuously stop and remould the clay doll figururines facial expressions and movements - before taking another camera shot... second by second. It's a very slow process to make stop-animation series... but when it's all completed and then played back quickly, it looks impressive and is very amusing and enjoyable to watch.

They aired Rupert for quite a while here in the U.S they changed the intro later though. That show really spurred my imagination. Yea the quality of kids shows is awful, they are mostly poorly made now. I can remember when Ed Edd and Eddie switched to digital from cell and pretty much after that every cartoon was digital. I used to love the Claymation Christmas specials like Rudolph and regular old shows like Gumby.
