- The US is the third-largest country in terms of population and therefore has more athletes to choose from than a country with a smaller population.
- Better coaching and training; with high schools, colleges, and professional leagues competing against each other all across the nation, you'd better believe that sports are a big deal in the United States. Every year, tons of money is spent so that teams can have the best coaches, training facilities, etc. that they can. When you take the best athletes and the best coaches and put them together, you get the cream of the crop.
- Finally, spirit and attitude. Americans have always been proud fighters and very patriotic.

So.... Can you explain, why has the USA so low ratio of golden medals per capita?

not really, since there are all races living in Brazil and brazilians only have 15 medals

Um, the dynamics are not different. Not really. Brazil has a mixed group, and then mostly blacks and whites. The USA has lots of hispanics and mixed, lots of blacks, whites, asians, and Polynesians…
