You forget something important. The moros did not have an intention to conquer France. What the normans won was a SMALL RAID done by some muslims near the border. It was not a real battle, it was not a real "we are trying to conquer France". So, it is overrated what that norman did as if he could have defeated all the moros just with his army. And he was a coward, if he really disliked the moros, why did he did not really help the Spaniards against the mooors in Spain?? He should have felt as a good Christian and European and try to help Spain, but he did not (except a relatively minor thing).

And by the way, Spain was never muslim. It was never conquered entirely. In fact, the half north of Spain had ZERO moros. The maps only represent raids against the north, and just the main rule of certain castles in certain cities. Rural áreas were untouched by the muslims. Just in the NorthEast there were muslims, but MOST of them were natives that switched sides, and changed to islam to maintain their privileges, as the Banu-Qasi family from Zaragoza, who were an old Roman family named Casio family, but changed to islam since islam was the new deal (it had not the bad conceptions that islam had today, since islam was created just 80 years earlier to the start of Al-Andalus and nobody knew what the hell that was).

No I didn’t, but you didn’t get mine. The reference to christianity was only a matter of convenience, as there were practically no atheists back then. Other than that, it’s entirely ethnic-based. To put it simply for you, an atheist like our CV would still fall under the label because of that. Go check out the limpieza de sangre concept, that’s what the term is actually refering to.
