Default Why do people eat crustaceans (crab, shrimp, lobster) but not insects and arachnids?

The three groups are closely related.

Why do people find it gross to eat centipedes, spiders, scorpions, and bugs but not their sea cousins?

Because these sea bugs have more meat and aren't considered a pest.

Many cultures actually do eat arachnids.

Deep fried tarantuals casually sitting on the cafeteria menu in China(right next to some fried centipedes):

I'm guessing that withing cultures where Insectophagy is taboo or uncommon, it's because Crusteceans have more available meat, and they don't have the association of being unclean and vermin like insects or arachinids.

Ant larvae are great with Cheese (a fresh cheese like Queso Fresco, Fromage Blanc, or Quark) and Rice too, same with wasp larvae when fried with rice.
