I'm right on the cusp between I and II. I haven't had anything resembling a tan since I was 11 years old, because being exposed to the sun, even if I avoid a flat-out sunburn that peels, still gives me the sensation of being burned. The more sensitive parts of my skin like back of neck can get sunburned in 30 minutes. My unexposed skin looks between 1 and 3 on the von Luschan scale, my exposed (exclusively backs of hands) between 3 and 7. I've been going cycling and regularly walking outside all year. I have a reddish tint to hair and freckles on the face as well, possibly a recessive ginger carrier.
