One of the last traditional houses standing in modern Lima, belongs to a very rich family here, the Berckemeyer's... I hope they won't sell it or demolish it, since many houses like that have suffered the same faith around here. Like this one:

And no one seems to care... bah. Anyway. That would be my dream house from the city where I am living.

I have become the kind of guy that would like to have a house in town or in the city (for business - the lower floor can be rented out or used as an inn) and a nice retreat out in the country. Something well-hidden perhaps like in the midst of the forest overlooking a lake or inlet.



It would have to be a bit lighter (lightly coloured wood) and maybe with a natural green roof (grass ?) and some solar panels and not just sustainable but also providing me both electricity and water and still connected to the grid.

As you approach the doorknob you catch a glimpse of what appears to be another world, waiting for you to enter and join, but in fact is a reflection of the room on the other side of the door.
