Not by chance, the Albanian leaders were welcomed into the Italian nobility and if I remember correctly there was even a pope who had Albanian origins.

Depends, if Italian states would have joined their forces i think they could have restisted an invasion. Modern Italy however already fought and beated Ottoman Empire alone during Italo-Turkish War.

I think i was clear. The period of time that interest to me is the war of Albanians with their leader Scanderbeg. If Albanians collaborated later with Ottomans or no, we can discuss in another thread.

How much was possibile for the Italian states to join their forces? Do you consider probabile an help for Italy from other western countries? Because Sultan Mehmet Fatih was obsessed by the idea of invading Rome. The Red Apple was the name given by Ottomans to Rome, kizil elma, i think this was the name in Turkish.
