dry is better as you don t feel much both the heat and the cold.

while with humid both the sun heat and the cold enters in your bone and mind

Where I live (in Ohio) is very green, and I would say that we receive enough precipitation through the year, but it is not extremely humid as the Northwestern Coast (states of Washington, Oregon).

Very hot and sunny weather, alternating with thunderstorms, in summer, and usually very snowy winters.

Here in Connecticut, the answer would be "Yes", depending on which day you asked the question. Or, as Mark Twain put it,
"If you don't like the weather in Connecticut, wait a minute."
"This is not my time; this is not my world; these are not my people." - Martin H. Francis

Here in northern Britanny, very very humide climate with strong wind.
Also, the winter are not too cold.
In Normandy where I was born, humide but less than Britanny, summer are more hot and winter more cold with snow.

Indeed. Another way would be to check the yearly ammount of rain each city recieves. I would consider:

    > 1000mm as humid
    < 1000mm and > 500mm as halfway
    < 500mm as dry

Lisbon area recieves 714 mm so i would say it's halfway between dry and humid.
