Your English never ceases to amaze me. OK let me think Ukrainian/russian here to find out your question ... So you want to know why we do small talks? I think that's your question.

OK well it's a nice thing sometimes like say you are at the store for example or at school and you see someone you know and let's say you don't have time talk to them because you need to go somewhere and don't have time to talk but you don't want to be rude and ignore them so you do a quick small talk instead and then leave. So let's say you're going to class and you see another teacher you like walking passed you well you might say "Hi, I miss being in your class. You were a great teacher. OK bye have to go to class".

I refer to small talk as 'pointless woman talk.' It's talk for the sake of talking. If there is no purpose to a conversation, then it's not worth talking.
